I can recall in college the rule was the older boys made the younger boys go into town and buy a piece of candy. I decided that this was not going to hppen to me and by both expressing myself verbally and holding my ground physically stopped it from hppening to me. I guess they did not come up aginst someone like me before who took such a strong position.
My parents received a letter from the house master expressing concern for me not fitting in and towing the line of conformity. Hell, my parents were paying good money for me to attend and I did not see why such a practice, insult should be accepted.
