CPR

Cat and Dog Emotional Support – Animal Husbandry

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid
course is to provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be
able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate
emergency medical services (EMS) response, such as wilderness and remote
environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
The Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is designed to be taught in

Skills Sessions
Once you successfully complete the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED, Adult Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED, or Adult CPR/AED online course, you will have up to 90 days for the skills session to be taken. During this time, you will have access to Red Cross online content so that you can refresh your knowledge before the skills session.
After successfully completing a skills session within 90 days, a 2-year, OSHA-compliant Red Cross certification will be issued.

Yes. Lay responders will find most people in cardiac arrest on the ground. Moving the person from the ground to an elevated surface will delay CPR and affect outcome. For successful completion, during the CPR/AED assessment scenario, participants must check the person, give approximately 2 minutes of CPR and operate the AED with the manikin on the ground. However, for skill practice, an accommodation may be made to have the manikin on a safe elevated surface that is firm, flat and stable.
