Ronald M Allen
I have always been fascinated by human interaction. How do we go about effective communication with and among one another?
I first worked in the Interior Design/Visual Merchandising industry for about 8 years in New York and coastal towns of New Jersey from around 1978. This was at a time that personal home design and furnishing was just coming into the mainstream of the average homeowner.
I entered the mortgage banking industry in 1987 and spent 20 years or so supporting the needs of both state and county housing efforts while guiding home buyers and current homeowners with understanding what homeownership was truly about. Even had my own terrestrial radio program My Home Your Home, airing on WNWR New World Radio out of Bala Cynwyd, PA
With the turning of the tides, I switched from the operational side of the business to corporate training, executive coaching and focused on human development (training side) which was my way of moving on. 10+ years now I have had the pleasure of working with some great people and for high-performance companies across four primary industries. Healthcare, Financial and Banking related services, Communications such as Call Centers and customer service operations.
My focus now has been in optimizing performance improvement inline with corporate strategy. Utilizing Change Management methodology, Project Management processes and Core Business Development Skills and Interventions supporting employee development.
I was born in Tooting Bec, London, England where my parents sent me to Prior Park Preparatory School and graduated from Prior Park College, Bath, in 1975. I studied Commerce and Art.
Immigrating to the States in 1977 I personally secured my citizenship to the United States on May 19, 2000. I married Miriam Anderson-Allen in 1994 and we reside in Burlington County, New Jersey with our two tropical birds (of which Peak preceded the start of our relationship) and three dogs, Sergeant, a Great Dane, Max, a Boxer/Bull Dog and Russell, a Brussels Griffith making up our family.
Ronald’s consulting firm, Managing Change, LLC, provides business consulting, coaching & mentoring, and presented keynote strategic sessions for a variety of clients such as the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Morgan Stanley, Hewlett Packard, McKinsey & Co., and Rowan College at Burlington County, New Jersey to name a few.
What have I done in the area of personal and professional development that my clients have found valuable?
ed on two initiatives, YearUp & McKinsey's Generations. The 22+ years of being associated with three state colleges across two states gave me an incredibly broad experience of helping multigenerational groups. Working with community groups around the state of New Jersey, I have received two Senate Citations from two congressional districts. The work I did as a mortgage banker for some 13+ years has provided me with a perspective on how we interpret one of the most important actions we go through. This has brought me to where I am today as a counsellor and coach. I have volunteered for and with many national, state and local organizations. I believe this has been a crucial part of finding out about myself. It has been real. The ability to build meaningful relationships is evidenced by the person or persons with whom you are engaging and stated from their voice, their perspective.
What am I currently doing for the benefit of business partners, clients and customers alike?
We all see value in what we do. The true test, what value I do is found in the feedback of how my clients have used these methodologies. Sharing with others various resources and approaches to improve another personal and professional life is probably the height of my life. Being invited to work with some of the largest firms in their respective industries, it is the client's anecdotal comments of how they achieved breakthrough insights on issues we discussed that make the journey worth the effort to understand their needs. Creating programs asked for by clients has led me to create 4 online courses. I coached a Toastmasters Corporate account, mentored 3 colleagues for my PMI New Jersey Chapter and Coached for the SBA - SCORE Northeastern New Jersey Chapter. I went back to school and have secured three certificates in Solution Brief Therapy that have helped me move into my third profession and deliver the kind of support that will help people Manage Life's Changes.
Where am I going? Moving forward with a flexible perspective allows me to engage openly with the opportunities that present themselves.
As we move through life’s experiences we find that the meaning of one experience is very different from one person to another. Being willing to learn about yourself permits you to bring forth latent capabilities, skills and desires that have laid dormant. Your life has just begun if you look at each experience as an opportunity to grow. My underlying mission is to galvanize the intellectual curiosity of those that seek meaning from their lives, by managing the changes on purpose. Helping to create opportunities for others to grow is a hallmark of self-awareness while understanding how to work with others on their own terms. I invite you to read what others say about my work.
